April MS Pharm Diary. THE FINALE.

  • April hours: 6.30 hours
  • Spring Semester Cumulative: 25.90 hours.

This month, I spent two hours volunteering with AT-Risk teens through my local church (not pictured for obvious violation reasons). Most weekends, I am busy and never get to participate. These teens are not only physically but also mentally at risk. I enjoyed spending time with them and hearing their stories. Those kids were worth the Saturday.

I finished my time at Ochsner Sims Education Center. This wasn't a hard goodbye, but I'll see you later. I have been working alongside the educational faculty there for the entirety of my time in New Orleans. There were tears and hugs shared. Teaching and showing teens and kids the good and bad of healthcare was truly a joy. This week, they toured the ER, primary lab, and Simulation center, where I led a couple of clinical outcomes.

The end is here. This program has been challenging, to say the least. I am grateful for all the experiences, and I wish to thank the faculty and staff for being so great. The road to medicine is not linear, but this part of my journey has been worth the while. I have met some fantastic people and will take them with me as friends. I have learned some amazing and useful facts that I will apply to my practices. Thank you to the Pharmacology Department at Tulane.
