September MS PHARM Diary.
- September: 0 hours.
- Fall Semester Cumulative: 0 hours.
- September in the Master's Pharmacology program felt relatively like finding my footing. During the whole month of September, I spent time revising my study habits to master exams. While I did not sign up for any community service opportunities, I spent moments assessing the various opportunities around New Orleans and seeing where I would find the most interest. My interest in community service is very particular. My previous organization tailored community service to my undergraduate interests, so I wanted to continue that in my post-graduate era. I look forward to volunteering with City Park as a gate checker during the first week of October and at the NHP AIDS conference that is coming up in mid-October. I signed up to be a recurring Botanical Garden volunteer for the City Park because flowers and nature are true to my heart. Whenever days are long, it's terrific to have the ability to touch grass. When I signed up for the NHP AIDS conference, I did it out of my interest in AIDS research in hopes of participating in the conference after my volunteer shift. In the meantime, working with children at an after care program isn't a volunteer job, but being outside and around all the laughs is an opportunity to see what the New Orleans community offers socially.
